More than 7 lakh state government employees in Madhya Pradesh are waiting for a salary hike as per the 7th Pay Commission by the state government. This year, as per the steps taken by the Central Government, many states had announced increase in DA allowance. Madhya Pradesh government may implement 4 percent DA increase this month. According to media reports, the state finance department has prepared a proposal regarding this and sent it to the Chief Minister’s office and the decision on this is going to be announced soon.

Last time DA was increased in July

Earlier, before the elections in Madhya Pradesh, DA of government employees was increased to 42 percent. The employees covered under the Sixth Pay Commission were given a similar increase in salary.

Central government will increase DA

Central employees get the benefit of 46% DA. This has been implemented from July to December 2023. The next increase in DA will be in this month of January 2024, it is expected to be announced around Holi. The DA and DR rates of employees-pensioners are revised in January and July based on the half yearly data of AICPI index. A total of 8% DA has been increased in 2023 including January and July and now the next DA will be revised in the year 2024, which will depend on the AICPI index data from July to December 2023.
