Employees Holiday: Central government employees will get 42 days leave on donating organs. In this regard, the Department of Personnel and Training had issued an order in 2023 itself. Now the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization has uploaded it on its website and given information.

Employees Holiday: If you do a government job then there is good news for you. You can get 42 days leave. Two things are mandatory for this. One is that you must be a central employee. Second, you have to donate your organs. Yes, central government employees will get 42 days leave on donating organs. Knowing this, private people can do nothing but regret. National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) has given this information.

According to the news of Times of India, Dr. Anil Kumar, Chief of National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization, said that the Department of Personnel and Training has already issued orders in this regard. He said, ‘We have recently uploaded the orders on our website for wider dissemination and awareness.’

Who issued the order

Actually, removing organs from a donor is a major surgery. It takes time to recover. This includes both the period of hospitalization and after discharge from the hospital. The order of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) states that the government has decided to grant a maximum of 42 days of special casual leave to central government employees who decide to donate organs as a ‘special welfare measure’.

What is said in the order

It states that the rule of 42 days leave will be applicable irrespective of the type of surgery performed to remove the donor’s organ. The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization has recently uploaded this order on its website. This order was issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) in 2023 itself. The order states, ‘Special CL will generally be taken at one go starting from the day of hospitalization. However, if required, it may be available starting a maximum of one week before surgery on the recommendation of a government-registered medical practitioner or doctor.’

Any living donor can donate one kidney, a part of the pancreas and a part of the liver.
