Employees Salary and Bonus: There is big and good news for the employees. The company is planning to increase the salary of its employees and give them bonus.
Employees Salary and Bonus: The country’s busiest airport may soon give good news to its employees. In fact, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) is planning to increase salaries and give bonuses to retain its employees. At present, the company is facing tough competition from Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), the operator of Noida Airport. DIAL, a subsidiary of GMR Group, said that increasing the salary will have a significant impact on its total employee cost.
How much will the salary increase
In its recent proposal to AERA, DIAL said that salaries may increase by about 12 per cent between 2024-25 and 2028-29. This includes an increase of 4.6 per cent due to inflation and 7 per cent due to growth in manpower cost. It has also projected a 21 per cent increase in employees in 2024-25 and 4 per cent in 2027-28. However, AERA has disagreed with DIAL’s figures. AERA believes that salaries and wages may increase by an average of 6 percent.
Revenue will also be affected
DIAL has urged the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) to approve higher aeronautical tariffs, citing financial pressure from Noida Airport. Airlines pay aeronautical tariffs to use the facilities and services of the airport. The distance between Noida and Delhi airports is just 70 kilometers. Apart from rising employee costs, DIAL is expecting a possible reduction in cargo and air traffic revenue due to increased advertising expenses and increased competition.
When will Noida Airport start
YIAPL, a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International, is currently building the Noida Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. Commercial flight operations at the airport were to begin in September last year. However, its deadline has been postponed twice. Now operations are expected to start later this year.
