EPF Account: Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has started EPF to promote investment to employees. Employees contribute a fixed part of their salary every month to this fund. In such a situation, if your EPF account becomes inactive then you can unblock it. For this, EPF has started a new facility.
Employees’ Provident Fund Organization ( EPFO ) has recently provided the facility of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for EPF users. Now employees can unblock their inoperative EPF account through SOP .
Well, today we will tell you how you can unblock an inoperative account through SOP. What is its complete process?
Issue UAN Number
If you do not have a Universal Account Number (UAN) number, then you will have to get it generated first. For this you will have to go to EPFO office. If you cannot go to the office then you will have to submit a request on the EPFigms portal (https://epfigms.gov.in/).
Here you can generate UAN by providing bank details and biometric verification. After this the EPF account has to be unblocked like UAN and KYC.
KYC required
KYC is necessary to unblock EPF account. If you have not got KYC done yet, then get it done as soon as possible. You can get KYC done by visiting EPFO office or online also.
After completing the KYC process, you will have to apply online to unblock your EPF account.
If your unblock request is accepted then your account will be activated again. You can file a claim after the EPF account is unblocked.
How to file a claim
If you want to claim EPF then you can also get help from the field officer. Let us tell you that for claims less than Rs 5 lakh, Go Level Approval is required. Whereas for claims more than Rs 5 lakh, you need 3 level approval.
