EPF Account Update: If you are doing a job then you will also have a PF account. All your information in the PF account should be filled correctly so that there is no problem in future. But sometimes the name, address or date of birth is entered wrong in a hurry. In such a situation, if you have also made such a mistake, then you can fix these mistakes sitting at home. If your date of birth is wrongly entered in your PF account, then we are telling you how you can get it rectified sitting at home.
How to fix this mistake
If the difference between the date of birth recorded in the EPFO records and your correct date of birth is less than 3 years, then you can submit Aadhaar or e-Aadhaar on the Unified Member Portal of EPFO. If the difference between date of birth and date of birth is more than 3 years, then along with Aadhaar or e-Aadhaar, you will also have to submit another document as a certificate of date of birth on the Unified Member Portal.
One of these documents should be there as proof of date of birth
- Any certificate related to school/education
- Birth certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths
- Passport, Driving License, ESI Card
- Certificate based on Service Records of Central/State Government Organizations
- Medical Certificate issued by Civil Surgeon after checking EPFO Member Employee
Enter online request like this
- Go to https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
- Now enter UAN, Captcha and Password
- Then click on sign in
- Now click on Manage tab and click on Modify BAsic Detail
- Now on the new page enter the correct date of birth in the Changes Requested section
- Now click on save or submit or update
After entering the request to correct the date of birth, do this
- Ask the employer to approve the update
- When the employer approves the updation, only then the EPFO will also approve the change.
