New Delhi. The Employee Provident Fund ie EPF has started crediting the interest of the last financial year. This interest has to be credited in the account of about 6.5 crore subscribers of the country. If the interest amount is not credited in your account, then you can wait for 10 to 15 days.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), recently announced the credit of interest. Since then, people have started getting messages of its interest credit. EPFO sources say that according to every zone and office, interest is being credited in the accounts. So, it is taking time. So far, interest has been credited in about 4 crore accounts. Interest will be credited in the remaining accounts also in a few days. Chandrashekhar Parsai, an expert in EPF matters, says that if interest is not credited in the account even after 10-15 days, then you can contact your employer or directly to the EPF office.
There will be no loss of interest even after the delay
EPFO credits the interest from March to February every year in April, but this time it has been delayed due to Kovid. However, even after the delay, you will not lose interest. The reason for this is that EPFO has retained the old formula of calculation of interest. That is, even though interest is being credited now, but it will be considered credited from March 2021 onwards. EPFO has announced 8.5 percent interest for the financial year 2020-21. That is, if you have 1 lakh rupees in your account till February, then 8500 rupees will be credited in your account.
