EPFO Latest News: Anti-Corruption Branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Nagpur and EPFO’s Vigilance team from Mumbai started searches on Tuesday morning at the EPFO ​​offices located at Tukdoji Chowk and Umred Road in Indore, which continued till late night. New Delhi: A joint team of Vigilance Cell of CBI and Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) searched two offices of EPFO ​​in Nagpur city of Maharashtra. Officials gave this information on Wednesday. He said that this action has been taken after complaints of irregularity against some employees.

According to an official, the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Nagpur and the EPFO’s vigilance team from Mumbai started searches on Tuesday morning at the EPFO ​​offices located at Tukdoji Chowk and Umred Road in Indore, which continued till late night. He said that during the search several documents indicating the crime have been seized.

According to sources, a large number of files and provident fund (PF) entries were scrutinized. Under the Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, it is mandatory for companies in which 20 or more employees are employed, to join social security schemes run by EPFO.

The search team on Tuesday found that some EPFO ​​officials had issued notices to schools and private companies with 40 to 50 employees to file PF, but no further action was taken in such cases. An official said that there were suspicions by the owners of these companies to convince the EPFO ​​officials that their company was being operated with only 18 employees, on the basis of which the cases were settled.

According to the official, the vigilance cell of CBI and EPFO ​​is probing the reasons behind the closure of such files without proper investigation by the EPFO ​​employees. According to sources, the CBI officials also questioned the EPFO ​​employees about the reasons for the closure of various files. He said that some EPFO ​​officials are also likely to be summoned for further questioning.
