The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made several changes in the recent past to make it easier for EPFO members to access their Provident Fund (PF) related information. Now, EPFO subscribers need not wait for their employer to share their EPF details at the end of the financial year. Now EPF account holders can check their PF balance online whenever they want.
Now, EPFO subscribers can check their EPF balance after EPF interest disbursement in their account after every quarter. As per the recent changes made by EPFO, an EPFO member can check his PF balance online in four ways including by logging on to UMANG App, using EPFO portal, sending SMS to 7738299899 or a missed call on 011-22901406 Giving is included. Check EPF Balance through UMANG App
EPFO customers can now check their PF balance on their mobile phones using UMANG App. This app was launched by the Government of India (GoI) to provide EPFO members access to various government schemes and services on a single platform. Here, user can view EPF passbook, raise and track EPF claims. To avail this, EPFO members will have to do one time registration after downloading the UMANG app in their mobile phones.
PF Balance Check through EPFO Portal
An EPFO customer can check his PF balance by logging into the EPFO portal – epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php. After logging in, they need to follow the step by step guide given below:
- Log on to EPFO portal – epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php;
- Go to ‘Our Services’, scroll down and click ‘For Employees’;
- Under ‘Services’ go to ‘Member Passbook’;
- You will be redirected to the new web page – passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login.jsp;
- It may be noted that an EPFO member can use one’s EPF passbook if his UAN is being activated by his employer. UAN is actually given by EPFO, but it is activated after verification by the employer.
EPF Balance Check via SMS
EPFO member can check his PF balance by sending SMS to 7738299899. SMS text format will be – EPFOHO UAN ENG. The last three digits in the SMS are the first three digits of the preferred language. This SMS service is available in 9 other languages – Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali. However, the SMS is to be sent from the mobile number which is registered with the UAN.
Check PF Balance by Missed Call
EPFO member can check his PF balance by using EPFO missed call service. EPFO Subscriber needs to give a missed call on 011-22901406 from his UAN registered mobile number. EPFO will send your PF details on your registered mobile number immediately.
