New Delhi. EPFO, the pension management organization for the salaried people, is giving a lot of emphasis on e-nomination. EPFO is also motivating its members to fulfill it by telling its members the benefits of e-nomination under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign. The purpose of EPFO behind e-nomination is to provide social security to the family of its members.
Now you can do e-nomination
At present, most of the work is being done online only. In view of this, EPFO is also providing its subscribers the facility to file e-nomination through online mode. On the death of the nominee employee, any family member sitting at home can take advantage of provident fund, pension and EDLI insurance scheme by filling e-nomination.
Can claim only after nomination
Under the Digital India program, now the account holder member can file the e-nomination of the family member sitting at home on the e-Seva portal. E-nomination is a must for pension and death claim settlement. A circular has also been issued in this regard by EPFO.
How to do e-nomination
First of all go to the e-seva portal www.unifiedportal-mem-epfindia.gov.in . Then log in there through UAN and password. After this upload passport size photo in the option of view profile. Then go to the manage section and click on e-nomination.
After this, enter the name of the nominee, Aadhar number, photo, date of birth, bank account number. Then on the next page click on E-Sign and generate OTP through Aadhaar. Enter the OTP received on the mobile linked with the Aadhar card. Your e-nomination will be filed as soon as you enter the OTP.
Benefits of e-nomination
On making e-nomination, the EPF member gets three major benefits. Firstly, if the account holder dies due to any unforeseen circumstances, the claim can be settled online. Apart from this, pension and insurance (up to Rs 7 lakh) is paid online along with PF to the nominated nominee. The third big advantage is that all types of claims will be settled immediately and paperless.
