Now it will be easy for crores of employees working in the organized sector. Now as soon as the PF money is credited to their account, they will receive an SMS on their mobile phone.
Yes, the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is preparing to curb the practice of not depositing the contribution of its members on time. Under this, the members will get the information about the contribution going into their PF account through SMS in real time. Along with this, the call center system is being improved for quick resolution of complaints.
Didn’t deposit the money?
Sources in the PF department said, ‘There are complaints that some companies deduct the PF money of the employees but do not deposit it on time. The employees are not able to know about it. In view of this, the IT system of EPFO is being upgraded like banks. Through this, information about the monthly contribution in the account of the members will be sent to their registered mobile number through SMS.’
A case was filed against SpiceJet
Last month, the Economic Offenses Wing of Delhi Police had registered a case against SpiceJet officials on this charge. It was alleged that they had deducted Rs 65 crore from the employees but did not deposit it in their PF accounts. However, the airline had said that it had deposited a lot of money and the process of depositing the rest was underway.
Preparations to bring EPFO 3.0
Giving information about the upgrade of the IT system, sources said, ‘The system is quite old. We are preparing to bring EPFO 3.0. With its arrival, the complaints of the members will be resolved quickly. Along with this, the call center network is also being improved.’
Information is received through missed call
Information about the amount of money in the PF account can also be obtained through a missed call. For this, EPFO has started a missed call service. This is considered an important step for PF subscribers. Under this, one has to dial 011-22901406 from his registered mobile number. After a few rings, the call will be automatically disconnected. After this, the subscribers will receive an SMS with PF balance on their registered mobile number.
