If the difference in your date of birth is less than 3 years, then in this case you will have to submit Aadhaar or e-Aadhaar on the EPFO Unified Member Portal. But if the difference in your date of birth is more than 3 years, then in that case, you will have to submit separate documents along with Aadhaar or e-Aadhaar on the EPFO Unified Member Portal (UAN). In such a situation, you will have to submit these documents-
> Any certificate related to high school or education.
> Registrar Birth Certificate.
> Passport.
> Certificate based on service records of a central or state government institution.
> Documents issued by any government department such as DL or ESIC card
> Medical certificate of civil surgeon.
The request to correct the Date of Birth (DoB) will be submitted online on the UAN portal of EPFO. For this, you will have to go to the link https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/. The salaried class gets the benefit of 24 percent of the basic salary in the form of PF. For this, 12% is deposited from the employee’s salary and the remaining 12% is deposited by the employer.
Nomination is also necessary
It is necessary for the Employees’ Provident Fund account holder to nominate someone for his account. With this, if any untoward incident happens to you, the nominee of your account can claim the amount present in the PF account. In such a situation, it is important for you to know that only the member of your family who is the nominee can claim for EPF.
