It has been said in the alert that a little carelessness can empty your account. The organization says – EPFO members be careful otherwise money can be withdrawn from their account. At the same time, for any kind of enquiry, its members can login to the official website epfindia.gov.in.

Explain that no bank or financial institution including EPFO ever asks for personal information like Aadhaar number, PAN number, UAN, bank account number or OTP on phone, social media or WhatsApp etc. At the same time, it never asks for depositing money or any services through WhatsApp or social media.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization has advised that they do not respond to any such calls or messages asking in person. This can make them a victim of fraud.
EPFO members can also keep their documents secure online. Many services related to this are available on Digilocker. DigiLocker is a secure cloud based platform for storage, sharing and verification of documents and certificates. It can be downloaded on both Android and iOS devices.
Benefits will not be available without e-nomination
EPFO members also get the facility of insurance cover under the Employee Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI Insurance cover). In the scheme, a maximum insurance cover of Rs 7 lakh is paid to the nominee. Explain that if the member dies without any nomination, then it becomes difficult to process the claim.
