EPFO Members: Good News! Now only Aadhaar will be necessary for PF claim, know details

EPFO Members: The government will make Aadhaar card the only document for identity verification in payment of EPF claim. For this, the government has set a target to provide convenience to the account holders and reduce the number of pending claims due to discrepancies in the documents. The Ministry of Labor has directed EPFO ​​to bring the claim in the fast track process as soon as the claim is pending for more than 30 days.

EPFO Members: In order to facilitate the claim (claim settlement) of EPF account of private sector employees associated with the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), preparations are underway to make Aadhaar the most authentic and universally accepted document for verification. Aadhaar will be made the main document for verification to find a solution to a large number of pending claims due to discrepancies in the documents related to EPF claim.

The Ministry of Labor has asked the Employees Provident Fund Organization to accept Aadhaar as the identity document to eliminate the complexities of documents in the process of settling payment claims. The Ministry of Labor hopes that this will not only facilitate the claims of EPF account holders but will also reduce the time taken in the process of settlement of claims.

This work will be done to reduce the delay in settlement of EPF claims

To reduce the delay in settlement of EPF claims, the Labor Ministry has also asked to start the process of automatically bringing an application into the fast track process of the organization as soon as it is pending for more than 30 days. Union Labor and Employment Secretary Sumita Dawra, in a review meeting of the functioning of 21 regional offices of EPFO ​​​​across the country, emphasized on Aadhaar to eliminate the delay in settlement of claims due to authentic documents.

The secretary said that the use of Aadhaar as an identity document simplifies the processes of government distribution. Along with increasing transparency and efficiency, it also ensures that the beneficiaries get their rights seamlessly.

The need to prepare these documents will end

According to him, Aadhaar-based verification will eliminate the need for EPF employees to prepare many other documents to prove their identity for settlement of claims. In this regard, while giving UAN number to new members joining EPF, it should be linked to Aadhaar. Labour Ministry gives target to EPFO

The meeting also discussed strategies for improving EPF grievance redressal mechanism and grievance redressal strategies for delay in settlement of claims due to errors in members’ profiles, non-compliance by employers, technical glitches, etc. The Labour Ministry also gave EPFO ​​the target of improving settlement of claims as well as reducing rejection rates.
