What is Inactive EPF Account
Dormant account is also called inoperative or dormant account. Account inactive happens in many circumstances. For example, if someone joined another company, but did not transfer the account to the new company and forgot it, then later that account becomes inactive. Interest will be available on this account for 3 years and not after that. If this money is not claimed for several years, then it will be transferred to the Senior Citizens Fund. For this, EPFO has created a helpdesk from where members can get information about their withdrawal or claim. If there is no proper paperwork on your part to withdraw that money, then the helpdesk tells about it.
