EPFO Pension: Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is going to introduce a new system ‘EPFO 3.0’ soon. According to Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the new system will be as convenient as banking. Many digital features will be provided in it, which will make transactions easier.
EPFO Pension: Will people with private jobs also get a minimum pension of Rs 9000? This question is being raised very fast. Actually, the central government announced the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) for government employees last year. This scheme guarantees pension equal to half the basic salary received in the last year of retirement for employees who have worked for 25 years. The new pension scheme will be implemented in the country from April 1, 2025.
After the government assured the government employees of assured minimum pension, the private employees coming under the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) have also intensified the demand for increasing the monthly minimum pension under the Employees Pension Scheme (EPS).
What is the demand of pensioners?
The pensioners demand that the minimum pension be increased from one thousand rupees to 9000 rupees. The argument of the pensioners behind this demand is that the pension currently being received is very low and it has become difficult for them to live. Pensioners have also been forced to protest regarding this. Apart from this, the pensioners demand that they should also get free medical facilities and dearness allowance.
According to the information, at present there are about 186 institutions under EPS-95… and there are about 80 lakh pensioners who come under this category.
Discussion on pension hike, but no announcement
However, Commander Ashok Raut, President of EPS-95 National Struggle Committee, claimed that before the budget, there was a discussion with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman about the pension hike, but there was no announcement about it in the Budget 2025-26. Due to which the pensioners are not happy.
At the same time, Madras Labor Union and B & C Mills Staff Union have urged Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to increase the minimum pension to Rs 9,000 per month for those covered under the Employees’ Pension Scheme.
On the other hand, in Nashik, Maharashtra, pensioners also demonstrated outside the EPFO office and demanded to increase the minimum pension from Rs 1,000 to Rs 9,000.
At the same time, various labor organizations of the country have also called for a nationwide strike on May 20 with demands like abolition of labor codes and stopping privatization.
PF account money can be withdrawn from ATM
On the other hand, the Employees Provident Fund Organization i.e. EPFO is going to introduce a new system ‘EPFO 3.0’ soon. According to Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the new system will be as convenient as banking. Many digital features will be provided in it, which will make transactions easier.
