If you also contribute to EPFO, then do not make this mistake even by mistake, because this small mistake will stop the benefit you get from EPFO and you will not be able to take advantage of it in future.
There are crores of subscribers of EPFO across the country. According to EPFO rules, if an employee works for 10 years, then he becomes entitled to get pension. 12 percent of the basic salary of every employed person is deposited in EPFO.
Of this, 8.33 per cent is deposited in the pension account and 3.67 per cent in the EPF. But it has been seen many times that people leave their jobs in the middle. At the same time, some people also take a break from the job in between. Many times women leave the job midway due to household responsibilities and later join again.
In such a situation, the question often arises in the mind of EPF subscribers whether they will get the benefit of pension if they join again after leaving the job in the middle. Come, about the important rules related to EPFO-
What is the rule related to working for 10 years?
According to the rules of EPFO, if a person wants to join the job again after a gap of a few years, then his previous years will be added to the tenure of the job. To take advantage of the pension scheme of EPF, you must have worked for at least 10 years in total.
If a company changes, then its UAN number (UAN) does not change and it gets transferred from one company to another. Along with this, the total job duration done by the employee is counted by removing the job gap in between.
Understand with an example-
We are explaining this to you with an example. Suppose a person has worked in a company for 7 years and then took a gap of one year. Then after this, again for 4 years, then the total period of his job will be considered as 11 years.
In such a situation, he will become entitled to EPF pension. On the other hand, according to the rules of EPFO, if a person works for 9.5 years, then he gets 6 months’ grace and it is considered equal to 10 years.
