EPFO Reforms Implemented : There is good news for 10 crore members of the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). The central government has said on Saturday that members will now be able to easily correct their personal information like name etc. Reforms have been implemented in EPFO by the government, after which members will be able to easily change their personal information by going to the digital platform of EPFO.
Union Labor and Employment Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya said, “EPFO has more than 10 crore beneficiaries, whenever a member had to make any changes in his information with EPFO, he had to go through a long process, but now reforms have been implemented in EPFO. After this, members will be able to easily change their information themselves without any external assistance.” Complaints will be resolved soon: Mandaviya
Mandaviya further said, “EPFO has received about 8 lakh complaints related to change in name and other information. With this change, all these complaints will be resolved soon.”
In addition, the Union Minister said, “The government has also implemented reforms to simplify EPFO account transfer. Now members will be able to easily transfer EPFO account from one institution to another through an OTP. Earlier the process for this was quite long.”
Can withdraw money from any bank
Earlier this month, EPFO had said that it has completed the rollout of Centralized Pension Payments System (CPPS) in all its regional offices across the country. More than 68 lakh pensioners will benefit from this.
With this new system, beneficiaries will get the facility that they will be able to withdraw pension from any bank. Also, the beneficiary will not need to go to the bank for verification at the time of starting the pension. This step will be a relief for those pensioners who go to their hometown after retirement and spend the rest of their life there.
