EPFO News: Have you quit or are leaving your job? If yes, then there is an important information for you. Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) allows its members to update the date of exit online. Under this, EPFO members can update the employer, date of exit, reason for leaving the job, etc. on time. Even if there is delay in joining another institute, your account can be updated.
Keep in mind that the exit date is updated when the contribution of employees and employers is stopped. This should be marked only two months after the last contribution made by the employers to one’s provident fund account.
To update the date of exit, follow the steps given below-
1. Visit the website https://unifiedortal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
2. Login with Universal Account Number (UAN) and Password
3. Go to Manage and Click on Mark Exit.
4. Click on the Select Employment drop down menu and select your EPF account number.
5. Enter the date of exit and reason for exit.
6. Request for OTP and enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar linked mobile number.
7. Tick the check box which says – I have read the points given below carefully.
8. Now Click on ‘Update’
Now you will get a pop-up message on your screen which says- “Date of exit updated successfully”. Click on OK button to complete the process.
How to Verify whether the ‘Exit Date’ has been updated or not
1. Click on the ‘Date of Exit Seeding History’ tab
2. You will get a list of all the employers with details like, joining date, date of exit etc. .
The exit date is updated when the contribution of employees and employers is stopped.
