Actually, a user has said in a tweet tagging EPFO that I have not yet received the interest amount for the financial year 2020-21. In response to this, EPFO has told that the process is going on, will be updated very soon. However, EPFO has not specified any specific time frame.
Questions being asked for almost two months: This is not the first time that questions have been asked from EPFO regarding the amount of interest. Such questions are being asked continuously for the last few days. In August, when a user asked on Twitter, the EPFO had given a similar reply. Then the user was informed by the EPFO that the process of depositing the interest amount is in the pipeline. Soon this money will be transferred to the account of all the account holders. EPFO had told that there will be no loss of interest to anyone, so everyone should be patient. This means to say that PF account holders will have to wait longer for the amount of PF interest.
How much interest will be received : For the financial year 2020-21, EPF account holders will be given interest at the rate of 8.5 percent per annum. However, this rate of interest is the lowest in the last 7 years. You can also check the balance yourself when the interest money is credited.
