New Delhi. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization has issued an EPFO Alert to its subscribers regarding the danger of online fraud. EPFO tweeted that if any person posing as a member of the Pension Fund organization asks for your account related or other confidential information, then do not give it at all. The EPFO said that the organization does not ask for information like Aadhaar, PAN, UAN, bank account or OTP from the subscribers through phone calls or social media. Also EPFO told how the subscribers can stay safe.
Phishing attacks happen on PF accounts The
EPFO said that no member can demand to deposit money for any service of the organization through WhatsApp or any other social media platform. Also said that subscribers should not pay heed to calls or messages seeking personal and confidential information, nor transfer money to any EPFO member. Let us tell you that most of the times PF accounts become victims of phishing attacks. In this, criminals break into the pension funds by getting personal information.

The Provident Fund Organization said that employees who change jobs are most prone to cyber attacks. So, they definitely need to be more cautious. If subscribers receive any phishing calls or messages, report them immediately. Pay the charges for the services of EPFO through the official channel only. Center gave Diwali gift to employees
This week, the Central Government has approved the PF Interest Rates at the rate of 8.5% on the Employees’ Provident Fund for the financial year 2020-21. This is good news for more than 5 crore EPFO subscribers before Diwali. Earlier in March 2020, the central government had reduced the interest rates on PF to 8.5 percent by bringing it down to a low of 7 years. During the financial year 2018-19, the interest rate on PF was increased to 8.65 percent.
