In this, an attempt is being made to know from them whether the company is giving them equal pay for equal work. Along with EPFO, the Ministry of Labor and Employment as well as the Ministry of Women and Child Development are also involved in this survey. Through this survey, the share of women employees in the workforce of various companies will also be known. Companies will be assessed on this basis.
Many questions being asked in employer rating survey
Many questions have been asked in this employer rating survey. In this, women employees have to choose options like Yes, No and Not Applicable. The results of the survey will tell what kind of attitude companies have towards women employees. Also, how many women are they giving place in their workforce? In this, women are being asked what facilities are provided in your company for complaining against sexual harassment. Is there a crèche for children or not? Are we getting equal pay for equal work or not and what is the facility of sending people home after work at night.
EPFO sent questions to 30 crore subscribers
According to the information, EPFO has sent this questionnaire to its 30 crore subscribers. According to the Labor Ministry, till the year 2022-23, 28 lakh women were registered in EPFO. This was the largest figure till date. EPFO is a retirement fund, whose data shows the status of regular employment in the country. Last week, Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani had given information about this employer rating survey. He told that this is part of the ‘Saksham Nari Sashakt Bharat – Women in the Workforce for Developed India’ campaign.
Women are not getting good jobs
India is among the lowest ranked countries in terms of the status of women in employment. The government’s Labor Force Survey shows that the number of women in employment had reached 27.8 percent in 2022-23. This figure was 17.5 percent in the year 2017-18. In this also, most of the jobs for women are as helpers. They do not get regular salaries. The situation of women in good jobs is still not good.
