The Employees Provident Fund or EPF has become significant for salaried employees during the ongoing coronavirus crisis, allowing people to meet immediate financial needs. EPFO has also taken several steps to help subscribers avail online facilities.

The Employees Provident Fund or EPF has become significant for salaried employees during the ongoing coronavirus crisis, allowing people to meet immediate financial needs. EPFO has also taken several steps to help subscribers avail online facilities. EPFO (Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation) has updated Know Your Customer (KYC) data of 52.62 lakh subscribers in the month of April and May 2020. This updation includes Aadhaar seeding, mobile seeding and bank account seeding of 39.97, 9.87 and 11.11 lakh subscribers respectively.



“To extend the availability and reach of online services, which have become crucial in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) updated KYC data for its 52.62 lakh subscribers in the month of April and May 2020,” EPFO said in a statement.

Apart from this, EPFO is also allowing subscribers to rectify errors in their EPF account, even during the lockdown. Due to this facility, 4.81 lakh names, 2.01 lakh dates of birth and 3.70 lakh Aadhaar numbers were corrected in the last two months.

How to rectify errors in your EPF account?

Go to the official EPFO website

– To make changes, log in using your UAN and password



– Click on the Manage option follwed by ‘Modify Basic Details’

Edit or update the details as per your requirement

– Click on ‘Update Details’ and submit the corrections



– Your details will be updated

You make corrections such as name, date of birth and other details in the EPFO records online. The date of birth provided in the Aadhaar will now be accepted as a valid proof of DOB for rectification, provided that the difference between the two dates is less than three years.
