“The Redmi Note 7 is a debut smartphone under the new Redmi brand and flaunts features like a waterdrop notch, 48MP rear camera and more”
According to a recent tweet by Xiaomi‘s country head Manu Kumar Jain, the brand will soon launch the Redmi Note 7 (first impressions) smartphone in the Indian market. However, the top executive and brand had kept the actual date of launch under the wraps so far. Until now that is. 91mobiles has now learned from the industry sources that the smartphone will be launched in India on February 12th.
According to the invite image that we exclusively procured, the newly spun-off sub-brand will be organising a launch event in New Delhi on February 12th. We can see the silhouette of the phone in the image with the waterdrop notch and the text “Apna Time Ayega.” The invite also mentions ‘Redmi Smartphone Launch‘. It’s safe to assume that the invite is for the Redmi Note 7 launch in the country. Notably, the Redmi Note 7 is the brand’s first smartphone with a 48-megapixel camera.
To recap, the Redmi Note 7 has a 6.3-inch display with full HD+ resolution, a waterdrop notch, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC with up to 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. In the imaging department, the handset offers a 13-megapixel camera in the front and 48MP + 5MP shooters on the back. The smartphone boots MIUI 10 out of the box and is powered by a 4,000mAh battery. On the security front, the Note 7 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock.
As for the pricing, the Redmi Note 7 retails for RMB 999, RMB 1,199, and RMB 1,399 for the 3GB + 32GB, 4GB + 64GB, and 6GB + 64GB variants, respectively in China. We can expect the Indian pricing to be in the similar range. Considering the launch isn’t far away, we won’t have to wait for long.
