Change in acquisition policy- The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is preparing to return the land acquired for expressways and highways with a condition. For this, the acquisition policy will be changed.

The network of expressways and highways is increasing in the country. Some expressway or highway must be passing through small and big cities. This is the reason why it has become easier to travel from one corner of the country to another by road. Land is taken from farmers for highways and expressways, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is preparing to return some land. There will be a condition for this land. Know-

There are a total of 1,46,145 km of national highways and expressways across the country. Before construction, the ministry acquires the land of the farmers and gives compensation in return. But sometimes such a situation arises that the land is acquired, but later due to some reason the alignment of the expressway or highway changes. Because of this, the farmer does not get any compensation and the land remains with the ministry but is of no use. Keeping this in mind, the ministry is preparing to change the policy.

This will be the condition

If there is no construction on the land acquired for the expressway or highway and there is no plan for any kind of construction on this land in future, then such land will be returned to the farmers. Because the ministry does not even give compensation for such land. Soon the policy related to this will be changed. The ministry has started brainstorming.

These expressways are being prepared

Delhi-Mumbai (1386 km.), Ahmedabad-Dholera (109 km.), Bengaluru-Chennai (262 km.), Lucknow Kanpur (63 km.) and Delhi-Amritsar-Katra (669 km.). Out of these, three expressways Delhi-Mumbai, Ahmedabad-Dholera, Bengaluru-Chennai will be completed this year, while Lucknow-Kanpur and Delhi-Amritsar-Katra will be completed in 2026. The total length of these expressways is 2489 km.
