FasTag New Rule: Some rules have changed from 1st April today. You should also pay attention to these rules. Because these are going to have a direct impact on the life of the common man. Meanwhile, big news has come out for the drivers in Maharashtra. Now FASTag has been made mandatory in vehicles at toll plazas here. Entry without FASTag can be difficult.
Most people use FASTag to avoid long queues at toll plazas. To make the FASTag process easier, its rules are also changed from time to time by the government. Once again some updates have been made in its rules. But this is not for all cities. It is only for Maharashtra. The Maharashtra government has made FasTag mandatory at all toll plazas from today (1 April 2025). Its purpose is to reduce traffic jams at toll booths. Now there will be no payment in cash.
If a vehicle does not have an active FasTag, then double toll can be charged from it. But it cannot be stopped from traveling in this. However, double tax can be levied as a penalty. In such a situation, you can cross the toll by doing a cash transaction. This will be done in case there is no FasTag.
Know what is FasTag?
Let us tell you that FastTag is an electronic tag, which is installed on the front glass of the vehicle. We also have to recharge it from time to time on the same side. Just like we do our mobile phone. Whenever a vehicle leaves the toll plaza, the machine installed at the toll scans the tag installed on the vehicle. Then the money is automatically deducted from the wallet recharged with the card. After installing this tag on the vehicle, you do not need to stop at the toll and get a slip. There are many small toll plazas in Maharashtra where there is no facility of FasTag. Now the government is making it mandatory. Along with this, the entire system is also being updated.
FasTag works on RFID
Talking about FasTag, it works on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. After the Fastag is scanned, the payment is automatically made from the wallet. Many people also connect Fastag to their bank account. With its help, payment can be made from anyone. If you do this, then you do not need to stop anywhere. Your wait is over. Along with this, you also get rid of the long jams at the toll plaza.
