New Delhi. You can soon buy petrol and diesel through FASTag as well. In fact, private sector IDFC First Bank and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) on Thursday signed an agreement to facilitate fuel payment using the bank’s FASTag at retail outlets of HPCL. The bank’s FASTag can be purchased, recharged and changed at select HPCL retail outlets.
This partnership facilitates the purchase and use of FASTag for 5 million users using IDFC First Bank FASTag at HPCL retail outlets. The agreement was signed by the senior management of HPCL and IDFC First Bank at an event organized in Mumbai.
Last year, the facility was started for the users of commercial vehicles.
Last year IDFC First Bank introduced fuel payment using FASTag balance for users of commercial vehicles at Hindustan Petroleum outlets through ‘Drivetrac Plus’ POS terminals. The positive response received from these users encouraged the bank to extend the facility to private vehicle users as well.
Private vehicle users can now use IDFC First Bank’s FASTag to pay for fuel purchases at HPCL retail outlets and get attractive reward points. Now payment can be made using FASTag balance by linking FASTag with ‘HP Pay’ mobile app.
