Fuel payment pilot project

Goa-based startup Numedik is currently running a pilot project of fuel payment through FASTag at petrol pumps of Hindustan Petroleum and Indian Oil. It is getting better response from the customers. Luc Sequeira, Founder and CEO of Numedic, told Mint that we plan to increase the number of petrol pumps, oil companies and banks. Its actual implementation will happen when we expand it across the country to prove this concept. Sequera said that the company is also exploring the possibility of paying drive-in cinema and traffic fines through this.

You can also pay for parking

Amit Lakhotia, founder and CEO of Gurugram-based startup Park Plus, says that by making payments through this, not only will the long queues in the parking lot but also get rid of the receipt of parking. The startup is currently taking payments through FASTag in 15 malls in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Dehradun and Vadodara. Park Plus plans to expand this to 40 malls and 1,500 government parking lots this year. Park Plus is also running a pilot project for fuel payment in Delhi-NCR like Numedic.

National Payment Corporation of India has made FASTag for toll collection. It has a radio frequency identification chip. The FASTag sticker is placed on the front glass of the vehicle. As soon as you reach near toll plaza or fuel outlet, the chip gets activated and payment is done automatically.
