Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Thursday that the Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile (JAM) trio helped the country reach the last mile of citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic and the system turned out to be a picture-changer. Addressing ‘Manthan’, a one-day meeting organized by the National Banks Council in Aurangabad, he said, “The JAM Sankalp of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has helped reach out to the people living in every corner of the country.


He said that people had questions as soon as Jan Dhan Yojana was started but now we can directly help the people so that they can live their life. Sitharaman said, “Linking of Aadhaar card with bank accounts helped in KYC-verified accounts. The third important part of JAM is mobile, where information about the benefits of government schemes (MNREGA) is also being given, including the information about depositing money.



whereas, Union Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Karad, who presided over the meeting, said that now the government’s attention is to be given to the people who have reached the age of 18 years. The money will be on account opening. Apart from this, SS Mallikarjuna Rao, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Punjab National Bank said, “The government has taken timely and effective steps to bring the economy back on track.
