Jewar Airport Trial: The first flight will land today at the international airport being built in Jewar, UP. All the trials related to security at the airport have been completed and with the first landing today, this airport will be ready for commercial services.
UP will be added to the world map today with another achievement. A dream seen about 23 years ago is going to come true today, when the first landing of the aircraft will be done at Jewar Airport. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has given permission for the first landing of the aircraft at Noida International Airport after all the security checks. It is estimated that the movement of commercial aircraft will start here from April 2025.
The construction work of the airport was going on in Jewar, Noida for a long time and now it is completed. DGCA tested this airport and after getting the green signal, the first aircraft will be landed here at 11 am today. Jewar Airport CEO Christoph Snellman said that with the landing trial to be held today, the preparations for this airport have been completed.
Where is the first plane coming from
The first plane will land at Jewar Airport at 11 am on Monday. This plane will reach Jewar Airport in 10 minutes after taking off from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). However, before landing here, the plane will circle in the sky for 1.5 to 2 hours and after getting the green signal after all kinds of security checks, the plane will land on the runway. If today’s trial is successful, it will be opened for commercial flights from April. There will be no passengers in the flight landing today, only crew members will be there.
How long is the runway here
The runway of Jewar Airport is being said to be very special. The runway of this airport, built in collaboration with Zurich Airport Authority of Switzerland, is about 3.9 kilometers long. It has been numbered from 10 to 28. The CEO of the airport says that if today’s trial is successful, then no further validation will be required. After completing all the preparations, the trial is going on here from 15 November to 15 December.
For which cities will flights be available from here
This multi-nodal airport of Jewar is said to be the largest in Asia. Commercial flights will start operating from here from April 17, 2025 and initially it will be connected with services on 25 domestic routes and 3 international routes. Apart from this, two cargo flights will also be able to fly from this airport. Domestic flights will be operated to 25 cities of the country.
