Flexi Fare Latest Update The Railway Minister has given a big update regarding the Flexi Fare in premium trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto. The Railway Minister told Parliament on Wednesday that there is no proposal to withdraw the flexi fare policy from these trains at present.

In response to a question asked in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav said that no changes will be made in the flexi fare policy in the coming times.

According to the Railway Minister, it was observed that during the period before Kovid, the number of passengers as well as income has increased in the trains in which the Flexi Price System was implemented as compared to the non-flexi fare period.

The Railway Minister said that at present there is no proposal to change the flexi fare policy for this reason.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha on Wednesday that railways and airlines are two different modes of transportation, it is not right to compare them. Railways have also implemented flexi fare facility in some trains like airlines, but there is a limit to increase the fare.
What Is Flexi Price System
The Railway Minister was replying to a question in the House, which was asked whether the Railways has implemented surge price in some of its premium class high speed trains and whether it will allow passengers to travel by flights instead of railways.

The Railway Minister told the Lok Sabha that no fare structure has been introduced in the name of surge pricing. Airlines do not have a maximum fare limit whereas railways have.
