Airline companies Indigo and SpiceJet are preparing to move a large part of their domestic operations to the new terminal. Indigo will move its 34 flights back to T1 from T2 and T3 from September 2.
There is a latest update for those flying from Delhi. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the operator company of Delhi Airport, said on Wednesday that the new T1 terminal will come into operation from August 17. DIAL said that airline companies Indigo and SpiceJet are preparing to move a large part of their domestic operations to the new terminal. According to Bhasha news, operations were stopped there after a part of the roof of Terminal T1 collapsed in June.
SpiceJet and Indigo will shift flights
According to the news, the new terminal has been developed by DIAL as part of the Phase 3A expansion project. DIAL said in a statement that as per the plan, SpiceJet will shift its 13 flights to Terminal-1 from August 17 and after this IndiGo will shift its 34 flights back to T1 from T2 and T3 from September 2. The new Terminal 1 was inaugurated in March. Delhi Airport has three terminals T1, T2 and T3.
Operations were suspended after the June incident
After a part of the roof of Terminal T1 collapsed in June, all flight operations from Terminal 1 were suspended till further notice and were rescheduled to operate from Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 till the respective airlines carried out relief work in the affected areas. Now with its resumption, everything will be normal here.

Important information for August 15
On August 15, non-scheduled flights will not be allowed to take off or land at Delhi Airport during the specified time. Restrictions on non-scheduled flights of scheduled airlines and private jet operations will remain in place from 6 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 7 pm on Independence Day. State-owned aircraft, helicopters ferrying the governor or chief minister, as well as flights carrying out quick reaction time missions and casualty/urgent medical evacuation are exempted from the restrictions.
