Flipkart teases launch of new Google Pixel smartphone in India on May 8

NEW DELHI: Recently, tech giant Google revealed that it will make a hardware announcement on May 8, 2019 at the company’s annual developer conference Google I/O. As per the various leaks and rumours, it is expected that the company might launch the cheaper version of Google Pixel 3 smartphones. It is expected that the company will launch the Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL at the event.



The company also accidentally leaked the name of the smartphone which is Pixel 3a on its official store. Moreover, Google also posted a teaser on its website with a tagline, ‘Something big is coming to the Pixel universe.’ Now further confirming about the launch, e-commerce player Flipkart has posted the same teaser on its website hinting about the launch of Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL which will be unveiled in India on May 8.
Flipkart has posted the teaser on main page which says ‘Losing sight after twilight’? which hints that the smartphones might come with low light camera capabilities. The teaser also consists of a smartphone image and reveals that it will launch on May 8 in India.


As per earlier rumours, the Google Pixel 3a is said to come with a 5.6-inch FHD+ OLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor. On the other hand, the Pixel 3a XL is said to feature a 6-inch FHD+ display and is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor.
Both the devices are said to come with Android 9.0 Pie operating system and offer 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage. The handsets are expected to come with 12.2MP rear camera and an 8MP wide angle front shooter.
