Flipkart UPI: E-commerce company Flipkart has started its own Unified Payment Interface (UPI) service in collaboration with Axis Bank. Its launch was on Sunday. This service is initially for Android users. This will provide customers with even easier options for making digital payments. Flipkart will face tough competition from Amazon Pay.
Let us tell you that the biggest rival of Walmart company Flipkart is Amazon, which runs its own Amazon Pay apart from payment service firms like Paytm, PhonePe and Google Pay. Flipkart, which acquired PhonePe in 2016, is expected to spin off from it in late 2022. It was trialling UPI service since last year. Now customers can register with the “@fkaxis” UPI handle and avail features like sending money and making payments through the Flipkart app.
With this UPI service, users will be able to make payments at online and offline shops inside and outside Flipkart. According to Dheeraj Aneja, Senior Vice President, Fintech and Payments Group, Flipkart, “We want to provide our customers with a great shopping experience by offering them secure and convenient payment options with benefits like SuperCoins, brand vouchers and more.” Apart from this, easy and fast services will also be available for recharge and bill payment.
