In such a situation, it is very important to use debit or ATM card in a safe manner and to be careful while transacting from ATM. The country’s largest bank, State Bank of India (SBI), has given some ways to keep its customers safe.
SBI said that customers should conduct ATM transactions in complete secrecy to avoid any ATM-cum-debit card fraud. SBI tweeted that your ATM card and PIN are important. Here are some tips to keep your money safe.

Take care of these safety tips – Cover the keypad with your hand while using it at ATM or POS machine. Never share your PIN or card details. Never write a PIN on your card. Do not answer such text messages, emails and calls in which card details or PINs are being asked.
Do not use the number as your PIN from your birthday, phone or account number. Keep your transaction receipt away. Look for spy cameras before starting your transaction.
Beware of keypad manipulation, heat mapping and shoulder surfing using an ATM or POS machine. Don’t forget to sign up for transaction alerts.
