The last date for updating Aadhaar for free has been fixed as 14th June, that is, now you have the opportunity to update Aadhaar card for free only till tomorrow. If you do not do this, then you will have to pay 50 rupees to get this work done.

How much charge will have to be paid

According to UIDAI, Aadhaar users can update their home address, phone number, name, email ID etc. online for free. To do this work, you will need identity proof and other necessary documents. Keep in mind that till June 14, you have been given the facility to do these works for free only online. If you go to the Common Service Center i.e. CSC and get this work done, then you will have to pay a charge of Rs 50 for this work. On the other hand, if you want to update information like photo, biometric and iris in the Aadhaar card, then this work will not be done online. For this, you will have to go to the enrollment center and also pay the charge.

How to update Aadhaar

  • First of all go to the official website https://uidai.gov.in/.
  • After this, click on the option of update Aadhaar.
  • Now login through OTP by entering the Aadhaar number.
  • Now you have to click on the option to update the Aadhaar card.
  • Choose the address option.
  • After this, click on Proceed to Update Aadhaar.
  • Now upload the documents related to the update address.
  • After the update request is accepted, a 14 digit URN number will be generated.
  • Save this number. After a few days your Aadhaar will be updated.
  • You can check the status of your Aadhaar through the request number.
