Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PM GKAY), only wheat will be distributed free of cost to the card holders this month. Rice will not be available. However, cardholders will get only five kg ration per unit. In this, instead of three kg wheat and two kg rice, only five kg wheat will be distributed. Under the scheme, free distribution of ration will be done from October 5 to 15 in the first cycle.
Under PMGKAY, 5 kg free ration per unit is being given to Atyodaya and eligible household ration card holders every month from July to November. Till now, three kg wheat and two kg rice were being given free of cost to the card holders per unit. DSO Sunil Kumar Singh says that under PMGKAY, five kg wheat per unit will be distributed this month. The same system will be applicable in the month of November also. Delivery will start from 5th.
