Free Ration Scheme: Delhi government has taken a big decision for the poor. The government has decided to extend the free ration scheme for another 6 months. Now the Kejriwal government will provide free ration to the poor till 31 May 2022. The government has taken this decision in the cabinet meeting on Monday. CM Kejriwal said in a digital press conference that, ‘We have started distributing free ration after the outbreak of Corona Virus. The time period of this plan has expired, so it is being extended for 6 months.

In fact, the cabinet decided that the distribution of free ration will continue till May 31 next year. The timing of this plan was till November 30 only. The Delhi government distributes free ration to the beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act, 2013 and the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. There are more than 2,000 fair prize shops, 17.77 lakh ration card holders and about 72.78 lakh beneficiaries in Delhi.
Fewer cases of hospitalization and death in Omicron infection
In view of the increasing case of Omicron, CM Arving Kejriwal said that, ‘Due to the increasing influence of Omicron, today a meeting of DDMA was held under the chairmanship of LG Sahab. There was a discussion with many experts about Omicron. Experts said that, ‘Omicron spreads very rapidly, but its symptoms are very mild, such as fever, headache and fatigue. In this, the cases of hospitalization and death are also less.
All arrangements have been made for the virus – CM Kejriwal
CM Kejriwal said, ‘I want to tell the people of Delhi that there is no need to panic. If you need hospital or medicine, then Delhi government has made all the arrangements. We have made arrangements for all the hospitals, oxygen and beds. There will be no shortage of any kind.
