In fact, under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, free ration will be distributed in Uttar Pradesh till June 19-30. But, this time 5 kg rice will be distributed to the beneficiaries instead of wheat. That is, this time you will be deprived of wheat under free ration. In this regard, the Commissioner of Food and Logistics Department has also issued orders.

Rice will be available instead of wheat
Actually, till now 3 kg wheat and 2 kg rice were given to the beneficiaries under the free ration scheme. But according to the order issued by the Commissioner of Food and Logistics Department, this time it has been decided to give only 5 kg rice to the beneficiaries instead of wheat. Along with UP, the government has decided to reduce the quota of wheat in many states.


Decision taken due to shortage of wheat
Significantly, due to less procurement of wheat, the government has decided to reduce the quantity of wheat in the ration quota. Let us tell you that the amendment has been done only for the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY). According to the information given by the government, an additional allocation of about 55 lakh metric tonnes of rice has been made in place of wheat.

How to get ration?
If you also get the benefit of this government scheme, then you will be able to take rice through portability challan. Apart from this, let us tell you that on June 30, rice will be distributed through mobile OTP verification to the eligible persons who are not able to take food grains through Aadhaar authentication. Nodal officers nominated by the District Magistrate will be present at all the shops for transparency at the time of distribution.
