Losar is on Friday 28 February. Losar is the main New Year festival of the Tibetan Buddhist community. This festival is celebrated with great pomp in the Buddhist dominated areas of Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh. Losar literally means New Year. It is considered a symbol of nature, prosperity and spiritual purification. Friday, 28 February: All banks will remain closed in Arunachal Pradesh due to Losar. RBI has kept banks closed only in Arunachal Pradesh. Otherwise, banks will remain open in all the states.
