Indigo air ticket booking: Now the country’s largest airline company Indigo will not ask gender i.e. whether the person is male or female while booking a ticket. The company has taken this step as part of its major efforts to promote inclusiveness.
Giving this information, IndiGo’s Group Chief HR Officer Sukhjeet S Pasricha has said that the company will offer passengers the option of Mx at the time of ticket booking. That is, it will not be asked whether the person booking the ticket is a man or a woman. This will provide an option for those transgenders who do not want to reveal their identity. Currently, only the option of male and female comes during ticket booking.
The target is to double the number of persons with disabilities
Apart from this, IndiGo aims to double the number of disabled people working with it. IndiGo is India’s largest airline company. IndiGo has a 62 percent share in the domestic market.
Air India Express and Vistara already offer the option of ‘Mx’ to passengers at the time of booking tickets. Pasricha said that IndiGo has implemented several initiatives for the ‘LGBTQ Plus’ community, including special programs to encourage the recruitment of people belonging to the community. According to him, LGBTQ Plus persons are being continuously recruited and they are working in various jobs including flying in the airline.
