It has been told that earlier it took 9 months to process the visa to go to Germany. Now it will be reduced to just two weeks. According to Shenzhen News, till now it used to take about 9 months for the authorities in Germany to process the work visa. Now the visa of skilled Indian workers will be processed in just two months.

Shortage of people working in Germany

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has said that her country needs skilled workers immediately. To meet this demand, the processing time of visas has been reduced. According to a Mint report, according to the 2023 data of the German Economic Institute, there are about 6 lakh vacancies in Germany. The long time taken in work visa affects the training of skilled workers.

Economy suffers due to non-appointment of workers

The German Economic Institute has also said that Indian companies making big investments in Germany depend on quick visas. Therefore, they are allowed to bring specialists to Germany. The institute has also said that the German economy may suffer a loss of 74 billion euros if the job vacancies are not fulfilled. According to this institute, the Federal Foreign Office has issued 80,000 work visas till June 2024. 50 percent of these were skilled workers.

On August 14, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar met German MPs Jurgen Hard and Ralf Brinkaus. He posted about this on the social media platform X. He said in it that he had a good conversation with Jurgen Hard and Ralf Brinkaus in Delhi. I appreciate their continued cooperation to strengthen relations.
