Today there has been a change in the price of gold and silver in Lucknow.
In Lucknow’s Bullion Market, the price of 10 grams of gold was Rs 50,150.0. Gold fell by Rs 170.0 today as compared to yesterday. At the same time, the rate of one kg of silver was Rs 72,490.0.
In Lucknow yesterday, the price of gold was Rs 50,320.0 and the price of silver was Rs 74,400.0.
Take care of hallmarks before buying gold
While buying gold, keep in mind its quality. It would be good to buy gold jewelery only after seeing the hallmark. The hallmark is a government guarantee of gold and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the only agency in India that determines the hallmark.
Hallmarking scheme works under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, rules and regulation. Jewelery is not made from 24 carat gold. 24 carat gold is considered to be the purest gold but it does not make jewelry because it is very soft.
Mostly 22 carat to 18 carat gold is used more for jewelry. Each carat would have a different hallmark number. For example, 999 on 24 carat, 958 on 23 carat gold, 916 on 22 carat, 875 on 21 carat and 750 on 18. This gives information about the purity of gold.
