Gold Price Today: Gold futures price

Gold prices on Friday fell by Rs 242 to Rs 78,984 per 10 gram in futures trade as speculators reduced the size of their deals amid weak global cues. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCE), the price of gold contract for delivery in February fell by Rs 242 or 0.31 per cent to Rs 78,984 per 10 gram. A total of 10,671 lots were traded. Market analysts said the fall in gold futures prices was due to the weak trend in global markets. Globally, the price of gold fell by 0.04 per cent to $ 2,713.30 per ounce in New York.

Silver Price Today: Silver futures price

Silver prices on Friday fell by Rs 754 to Rs 92,049 per kg in futures trade as traders reduced their deals. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCE), the price of silver contract for delivery in March fell by Rs 754 or 0.81 per cent to Rs 92,049 per kg. A total of 20,890 lots were traded in it. Analysts said that the price of silver was mainly affected by the selling by participants in the market at the current level. Globally, silver prices fell by 0.52 per cent to $ 30.65 an ounce in New York.

How to check gold hallmark?

The hallmark number of all carats of gold is different. For example, 24 carat has 999, 23 carat has 958, 22 carat has 916, 21 carat has 875 and 18 carat has 750. This leaves no doubt about the purity. Carat gold means 1/24 percent gold, if your jewellery is of 22 carat, then divide 22 by 24 and multiply it by 100.

Know what is gold hallmark

Only 22 carat gold is used in making jewellery and this gold is 91.6 percent pure. But by adulterating it, 89 or 90 percent pure gold is sold as 22 carat gold. That is why whenever you buy jewellery, do get information about its hallmark. If the hallmark of gold is 375, then this gold is 37.5 percent pure gold. Whereas if the hallmark is 585, then this gold is 58.5 percent pure. If the hallmark is 750, then this gold is 75.0 percent pure. If the hallmark is 916, then the gold is 91.6 percent pure. If the hallmark is 990, then the gold is 99.0 percent pure. If the hallmark is 999, then the gold is 99.9 percent pure.
