The government has given a gift of 3 percent DA to central employees in March, after which their dearness allowance has increased to 34 percent of the basic salary. Now the fitment factor is also preparing to change on the same lines, after which both the basic salary and the total salary in hand will increase to a great extent.
New Delhi. After increasing the dearness allowance (DA) of government employees by 3 percent, the central government is now preparing to give another gift. If sources are to be believed, then the government is seriously considering the demand of the central employees, in which there is talk of increasing the fitment factor.
Central employees have been pressurizing for increasing the fitment factor for a long time and media reports say that they may get good news soon. Employees have recently received the gift of dearness allowance, which has increased from 31 per cent to 34 per cent. The employees unions are demanding to increase the minimum basic pay from 18 thousand to 26 thousand and increase the fitment factor from 2.57 times to 3.68 times.
Basic salary was increased in 2017
In view of the demand of the employees, in June 2017, the Union Cabinet had approved the implementation of the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission. For this 34 types of amendments were also made. Under the change, the minimum basic pay of Rs 7 thousand was increased to 18 thousand. At the same time, the highest level i.e. the basic salary of the secretary was increased from 90 thousand to 2.5 lakh rupees.
…then the minimum basic salary will increase by 8 thousand rupees
If the government announces an increase in their basic pay according to the demand of the employees, then the minimum basic salary will increase from Rs 18 thousand to Rs 26 thousand. In this way, only the basic salary will increase by 8 thousand rupees. Now instead of the existing fitment factor, there is a demand to install a new fitment factor.
There will be a big increase in salary due to the new fitment factor, understand the complete math
If the government makes changes in the fitment factor formula along with increasing the basic salary according to the demand, then there will be a big one-time increase in the salary of the employees. At present, the fitment factor formula is fixed at 2.57 times, but after the increase it will be at 3.68 times.
Suppose your basic salary has increased to Rs 26 thousand per month and the total salary on this is to be calculated through the new fitment factor, then your total salary will be 3.68 times of 26 thousand. That is, you will get Rs 95,680 every month. At present, the minimum salary is 18 thousand and the fitment formula is 2.68 times. That is, now the starting salary is Rs 46,260.
