7th Pay Commission: Central employees can once again get the gift of DA hike in the festive season. Central employees and pensioners are getting 28 percent Dearness Allowance from July 1. It is reported that the government may soon release Dearness Allowance (DA) for June as well. If this happens, then the total dearness allowance will increase from 28 percent to 31 percent. This means that there will be a bumper jump in the salary of central employees.
DA to increase by 3% in June 2021
Dearness allowance news for June 2021 has not been decided yet. But, it is clear from the AICPI June data that 3 percent dearness allowance will increase further. According to JCM Secretary (Staff Side) Shiv Gopal Mishra, if the government announces this soon, then there will definitely be a big relief for the government employees. Actually, the figure of AICPI has reached 121.7 in June 2021. It has increased by 1.1 points. In this sense, the total DA works out to 31.18 per cent. But, DA is paid in round figure. In such a situation, DA will be available only 31 percent.
How much salary are you getting now?
According to the 7th Pay Commission Matrix, the salary range of Level-1 of central employees ranges from a minimum of Rs 18,000 to a maximum of Rs 56,900. If Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) increases by 3 percent in June, then the total DA will be 31 percent.
1. Basic salary of the employee Rs 18,000
2. New dearness allowance (31%) Rs 5580/month
3. Dearness allowance so far (28%) Rs 5040/month
4. How much dearness allowance increased by 5580-5040 = Rs 540/month
5. Increase in annual salary 540X12 = Rs 6480

Now let’s see this calculation by doing the maximum basic salary of Level-1 at Rs 56900.
Calculation on 31% DA
1. Basic salary of the employee Rs 56900
2. New dearness allowance (31%) Rs 17639 / month
3. Dearness allowance so far (28%) Rs 15932 / month
4. How much dearness allowance increased 17639-15932 = 1707 Rs/month
5. Increase in annual salary 1707X12 = Rs 20484
HRA is not included in the calculation
According to 31 percent dearness allowance, the total annual dearness allowance on the basic salary of Rs 56900 will be Rs 211,668. But, if we talk about the difference as compared to 28 percent, then the annual increase in salary will be Rs 20,484. However, the calculation of how much the final salary will be will be known after adding other allowances including HRA. This simple calculation has been done for an idea only.
