That is, those who have not filed life certificate by November 30, they will continue to get pension. According to information received from the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions office, a large number of pensioners visit bank branches to submit life certificates.
In view of Corona pandemic in various states and the threat of elderly population from Corona, the Ministry has now decided to extend the existing deadline for submission of Life Certificates for pensioners of all age groups. During this period the pension would continue to be paid by the Pension Disbursing Authorities (PDAs) without any interruption.
The above measures are expected to avoid overcrowding in branches and to maintain proper conduct of COVID-19 while obtaining life certificates, the office memorandum said. The circular also asked the PDAs to ensure proper arrangement and social distancing measures in the branches and prevent overcrowding.
