In fact, during his address, Secretary General Dr. Raguvaiya told that despite the Corona crisis, the Ministry of Railways has proposed a bonus of 78 days to the Cabinet. Its file has been sent to the Union Cabinet, after getting the approval, the official announcement of the bonus of railway employees will be made. Apart from this, 35 thousand senior supervisors of all departments of Indian Railways will be upgraded from Rs 4600 grade to 4800 GP before December 2021, he added. For this a consensus has been reached in the Mandal Committee.
Let us inform that now small track machine employees, signal maintainers, traction department and shed employees should also get allowance in the railways. There are more than 10 thousand such employees only in Chakradharpur division who should get incentive amount in the form of allowance. For this, a cadre meeting was organized in the Central Office of South Eastern Railway recently. Addressing which Shashi Mishra, Joint General Secretary of Mains Congress and convener of Chakradharpur Mandal, had demanded the allowance of the employees.
During this, the issues of the employees were raised before the General Secretary of the National Federation of Indian Railwaymen, Dr. M. Raguvaiya and their solution was demanded. In addition, the Railway Board sought to provide funds for the smooth continuation of essential services in the Railways. On the other hand, NFIR General Secretary Dr. Raguvaiya said that all the office bearers and workers of Mains Congress should work like servants of railway employees.
Earlier, the Central Government had said that about 11.58 lakh non-gazetted employees of the Railways have been given bonus equal to 78 days’ salary for the financial year 2019-20. This productivity linked bonus for railway employees has been estimated to be Rs 2,081.68 crore.
The Union Cabinet in its meeting had accepted the proposal of Ministry of Railways for payment of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equivalent to 78 days’ salary for the financial year 2019-2020 for all eligible non-gazetted railway employees (except RPF) .
The financial impact of payment of PLB for 78 days to railway employees was estimated to be Rs 2,081.68 crore. The prescribed pay calculation limit for payment of PLB to eligible non-gazetted railway employees is Rs.7,000 per month. The maximum amount payable per eligible railway employee is 17,951 for 78 days. A railway statement said that about 11.58 lakh non-gazetted railway employees are likely to benefit from this decision.
Productivity Linked Bonus on Railways covers all non-gazetted railway employees (except RPF/RPSF personnel) who are spread across the country. The PLB is paid to the eligible railway employees every year before the Dussehra/Puja holidays.
