An increase of 3 percent has been announced in the dearness allowance of central employees from January 1. However, the Karnataka government has implemented a different pay scale here. Under this, employees have been given an increase from January.
The Karnataka government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of lakhs of its employees and pensioners. The government informed that the existing DA of the employees has been increased from 24.50% to 27.25%. These rates have been increased from January 1, 2022. This increase in DA of state employees has been done on the revised pay scale of 2018. The state government has announced this through a tweet on Tuesday.
Let us inform that the central government had also announced to increase the dearness allowance of its employees in the end of March. The central government had increased the dearness allowance of its employees by 3 percent, due to which their DA has increased from 31 percent to 34 percent from January 1. They will also get arrears from January to March.
Whose DA increased in Karnataka
According to the tweet of the state government, the benefit of this increase in dearness allowance will be given to those employees of the state government who are working in government offices, aided educational institutions etc. Along with this, dearness relief to government pensioners has also increased. This order will be applicable to district panchayat, regular employees, teachers working in the university.

The government has said in a tweet that an order to increase the DA of employees getting UGC, AICTE and ICAR pay scale will be issued separately. The government also said that state employees will get DA along with salary. The payment of arrears from January to March can be done after the salary of March. The government has said that DA is part of Renumeration, it should not be taken as pay.

Explain that during the Covid Mahamari, the government had banned the increase in dearness allowance. It was banned for about a year and a half. In July 2021, the government ended this ban.
