People lock their valuables from the bank to keep them but sometimes it happens that their valuables get stolen and they have to face a lot of trouble.
Stuff gets stolen from the locker
RBI has changed the rules on the complaint of customers taking lockers in the bank. RBI has made it clear that if any item is stolen from the bank, the customers will be compensated for it. This rule is there to save people from the trouble of having their belongings stolen in the bank. Protection of the rights of customers is necessary with new technologies including CCTV. It has been said to implement this rule from January 1, 2022.
Now 100 times compensation will have to be given
RBI has said that in case of theft of anything from the bank, the banks cannot wash their hands. Now, if anything is stolen from the bank locker, the concerned bank should give 100 times the locker rent compensation to the customer.
