7th Pay Commission: Good news can come soon for central employees. After increasing the dearness allowance by 11 percent, now the discussion about the DA of June 2021 is intensified.
There can be good news for the central employees in the festive season. After increasing dearness allowance by 11 percent, now the discussion about DA of June 2021 is intensified. It is clear from AICPI data (All India consumer price index) that dearness allowance can once again see an increase of 3 percent. Recently, the Labor Ministry has released AICPI figures, in which the figure for June 2021 has been 121.7. The index for June 2021 has increased by 1.1 points, taking it to 121.7. In such a situation, increasing the dearness allowance by 3 percent is believed to be fixed. For an increase of 4 percent in Dearness Allowance, the figure of AICPI IW should be 130 points. But, at present it has increased to 121.7. Now dearness allowance may increase by 3 percent in June 2021.
It is clear from the data that dearness allowance will be 31.18 percent. But, the calculation of DA is done in round figure. In such a case, DA 31 percent will be payable. So far, dearness allowance has been 28 percent. Including the increase of DA in June 2021, it will now be 31 percent. However, it is not clear when it will be announced and paid. But, it is expected that government employees can get good news by the middle of September.
Last month was great. In July, the cabinet approved to increase the DA by 11 percent and it was also credited with the salary of July. In this, 11 percent dearness allowance stuck for one and a half years has been added. However, the DA pending arrears for one and a half year were not paid. Regarding this, the government had made it clear that arrears would not be given. However, employee organizations are continuously demanding this. At the same time, JCM Secretary (Staff Side) Shiv Gopal Mishra had also indicated that talks are going on regarding arrears. A negotiated settlement will be done with the government.
Central employees may be waiting but the path of arrears is now difficult. No conclusion was reached on this in the meeting of the Cabinet Secretary on June 26-28. Also, there was no discussion on this in the cabinet also. Minister of State RK Nigam said that the demand for this is going on continuously.
The government should also think in the interest of the employees. At the same time, according to Shiv Gopal Mishra, keeping the inflation in mind, the employees should get their due. However, due to the pandemic, it is a bit difficult for the government to decide on this as well. Employees also understand this. In such a situation, a middle way will be found together with the government.
